Hithercroft Six-a-Side Tournament (16/07/2001)
2000 - 2001 Season, Hithercroft Under 14s



We had a very successful weekend where, in spite of the forecasts, the weather remained mainly dry and warm.

On Saturday morning the Under 14s semi-finalists were Marlow 'B' versus Wycombe Lions and Marlow 'A' versus Risborough from which Wycombe Lions and Marlow 'A' contested the final. At the end of normal play and sudden death extra time the teams could not be separated and so the result had to be decided on penalties with Wycombe Lions the final victors (6-5).

In the afternoon the Under 13s competed with the semi-finals being Downley 'A' versus Risborough 'A' and Downley 'B' versus Hithercroft 'A'. In the first semi-final Risborough 'A' withdrew following a 'technical' error giving Downley 'A' a bye to the final. In the other match 'sudden death' extra time sent Downley 'B' into the final where the victors were Downley 'A'.

On Sunday morning the Under 12's Semi-finalists were Naphill versus Chinnor Boys and Bourne End 'B' versus Chinnor Youth. Chinnor Boys won the first 1-0 and Bourne End 'B' went through 5-4 on penalties. The final went to Chinnor Boys 1-0. The Under 15s Semi-finalists were Hithercroft 'A' versus Aston Clinton (which Aston Clinton won 2-0) and Chalfont Saints versus Hithercroft 'B' (which the home team won 1-0). The final was won by Hithercroft 'B' 1-0.

On Sunday afternoon the Under 16s Semi-finalists were Stokenchurch 'A' versus Marlow (where Marlow ran out 2-0 winners) and Stokenchurch 'B' versus Beaconsfield (which was won by Stokenchurch 'B' 1-0). The final was won by Marlow 2-0. (Stokencurch 'B' had been playing their last 2 games with only 5 players through injury).
