Chalfont
St Peter Colts (25/02/2001)
2000 - 2001 Season, Hithercroft Under 14s
The
weather was very cold and the pitch was covered in fine and shallow
snow.
Jason Guy opened the scoring shortly after the start for Hithercroft.
Then, ten minutes later Jerome Warren passed to Dewayne Dublin who
lobbed the ball over the Chalfont keeper for Hithercroft’s
second. Chalfont St Peter were constantly pushing up to the halfway
line and catching the visitors off-side. However, after twenty minutes
Jason scored again, putting the ball just wide of the Chalfont ‘keeper.
Three minutes later, from a Hithercroft goal kick, Jason took the
ball from the halfway line and ran downfield and scored from a very
tight angle. Then Paul Yandell sent the ball across the face of
the Chalfont goal for Jerome to slot it through the defenders and
into the net. Three minutes later Dewayne increased Hithercroft’s
lead, making the half-time score-line 6-0 to the visitors.
Three minutes after the restart, Shane Globe added another for Hithercroft
and then Dewayne, standing with his left side towards goal, volleyed
Jerome’s cross using the outside of his left foot into the
goal. Two minutes later Shane scored again and then Jason started
a run from his own half, rounded the Chalfont keeper and scored
his fourth of the day. Dewayne then also went on a run and lifted
the ball over the advancing keeper for Hithercroft’s 11th
goal. After 16 minutes of the second half Jason scored again, followed
by Paul repeating his first half cross for Jerome to score again.
Paul managed to get the ball into the opponent’s net but was
ruled off-side. Not to be outdone by Jason, Dewayne scored his fifth
goal after 30 minutes of the half. Just before the final whistle
Jerome took the ball past the Chalfont defenders and their keeper
came out to meet him. Jerome hit the ball straight at him, the goalie
only being able to block the shot. Jerome took the ricochet and
hit the ball straight at him again! The final score-line was 14-0
to Hithercroft with Dewayne and Jason getting five each and Jerome
and Shane scoring two each.
Richard Sunderland was awarded Hithercroft’s ‘Man of
the Match’ for his very good defensive work. Chalfont St Peter
Colts never gave up and showed some good ball control and skills.
We wish them all the best for the remainder of the season.
